Specialized temperature measurement with optical sensors
Point temperature sensors based on FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) structures. Designed for measuring the temperature of gaseous, liquid, and solid substances. The maximum temperature range is -50 to +200 °C.
Sensors are used where conventional electronic sensors cannot be used, e.g., in environments with strong electromagnetic interference, explosive areas, or radioactive environments. The sensors are completely passive and do not require a power supply at the measurement site. The measurement points are thus galvanically isolated from the evaluation electronics, which can be located up to several kilometers away from the measurement point. The basic 4-channel system can be expanded to up to 64 channels using an optical MEMS switch, which significantly reduces the cost of the evaluation unit and the price of the system per sensor. A major advantage is the long service life and stability of the sensor parameters over 10 years.
Types of cases
We offer three standard types of housings: OTG3 0E (smooth stem), OTR 148Z 1E (threaded well), and OTR 141R 1E (flange) with a three-meter fiber optic cable with a Teflon sheath. The sleeves can be customized for specific applications according to specific requirements.
The standard communication interface is Ethernet; however, the evaluation unit can also be equipped with an RS-485 converter or other communication standards, enabling the monitoring system to communicate with higher-level control systems. In autonomous operation mode, the acquired data are processed by the evaluation electronics and transmitted via a 4G/5G interface to a server, which collects and stores the data in SQL database using the MQTT protocol. The data are presented to users through a web interface offering a wide range of customization options tailored to the specific installation and application. Remote data access enables integration of the system into commonly used supervisory platforms and is always secured against unauthorized access.
